Vegan Junk Food Bar is a Mecca for vegetarians. As the name suggests, the bar offers a menu filled with vegetarian burgers, sandwiches, fries and other snacks. The dessert is made in collaboration with Professor Grunschnabel, who is known for his gluten and soy-free ice cream. The Vegan Junk Food Bar is located in Oud-West in Amsterdam and a second location will open soon in de ‘Pijp’ on the Marie Heinekenplein.

To highlight this happy fact, Popocatepetl organizes a contest where their guests can win memorable prizes including ‘free nacho’s for the rest of your life’.
Café Ter Marsch launches vegetarian steak tartare in collaboration with ‘De Hippe Vegetariër’

Since last Monday, Café Ter Marsch in Rotterdam has a new vegetarian dish on the menu. The dish is a vegetarian steak tartare and was made in collaboration with a Dutch blog called ‘De Hippe Vegetariër’ (The Hip Vegetarian). This collaboration is the result of the Blogger Summer Vega Challenge, challenging bloggers to share a vegetarian recipe on social media for the restaurant.

H.A.R.L.A.N.D, the Human Assisted Robotic Linguistic Animatronic Networked Device is KFC’s latest stunt for NFCD (National Fried Chicken Day) and it’s a robot designed to take drive-thru orders. The robot translate the responses from the cashier into Colonel Sanders-speak, with a slight delay.

You only need to deliver your necktie Friday 7 July at Van Zanten café, ‘een tappie voor een dassie’ (Dutch slang meaning ‘a draft for a necktie’). For those who have to work before the summer holiday starts, come and exchange a tie for a glass of ice cold beer to celebrate the fact that we have fewer traffic jams the coming weeks!
