- Private aviation leader Flexjet, and London’s most exclusive new hotel, The Emory, have recently announced a bespoke collaboration, designed to offer guests the ultimate airborne hotel arrival experience, included in their stay.
- Ruby Hotels opened their 19th location, in Florence, Italy. Ruby Bea Hotel is located in the same building as Ruby Dante Workspaces.

Restobar Vista Rotterdam opened by the owners of Vista Willemstad

Opening – Ingrid and Henrie van der Heijden opened Restobar Vista in Rotterdam on July 15th 2024. It’s the second restaurant of the couple, who also own Michelin star restaurant Vista in Willemstad. Guests at Restobar Vista Rotterdam dine with a unique view over the water of the Nieuwe Maas river, the Erasmus Bridge and the skyline of Rotterdam. The new establishment is run by chef Kimmo Geus and hostess Nikki Bijtenhoorn.
Celebrate Pride 2024 in the hospitality industry

Amsterdam is celebrating inclusivity these weeks, with the PRIDE as highlight. Last Monday was Pink Monday in Tilburg and in the coming period there are LGBTIQA+ events in various cities in the Netherlands. Hotels are hosting events and restaurants are creating delicious rainbow dishes! A list of places that are paying attention to Pride 2024 and initiatives in the hospitality industry!

- On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October 2024, the largest culinary event in the Netherlands, ‘100Chefs by Gault&Millau’, will take place at the Miele Experience Center in Vianen.
- From Wok to Walk to Wok to Dine: the chain has opened their sixth Amsterdam branch in the Pijp area. Here you can go for to-go wok dishes but you can also dine more elaborately.

Amsterdam-based fine dining steakhouse restaurant MR PORTER Steakhouse, Bar & Lounge, which is part of THE ENTOURAGE GROUP, will open its doors in London in September 2024. Located at 22 Park Lane, on the former site of Trader Vic, MR PORTER’s slightly ambiguous and flavourful cuisine translates into pure and intriguing dishes. It is their fourth location after, Amsterdam, Barcelona and a pop-up in Ibiza.

- DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station introduces a welfare budget for employees in cooperation with empowr.
- And a mobile charcuterie stand by La Rosé Charcuterie! Great idea for events?

“to Otomat or Notomat?” | At Belgian pizza chain Otomat

Otomat serves ‘Heavenly pizza & glorious beer’ according to their website. It is a chain of pizza restaurants with branches in Antwerp (MAS), Ghent (with a view of ‘the Leie’ and a ‘Paddle in’), Bruges, Leuven and Mechelen. Otomat says it has reinvented the pizza experience and given it a unique Belgian twist. They create pizza with Flemish classics, the pizza bases have a local touch and, of course, the ‘beer pairings’! They have a special menu this summer and in addition they ask “to Otomat or Notomat?” upon entering. Curious?

Summer festival Homelanding in Amsterdam

Next week, from July 17 to 21, the Marineterrein in Amsterdam will once again be transformed into the five-day summer festival Homelanding, full of live music, local beers, delicious food and a warm neighbourhood ambiance. For this festival, Homeland Brewery and Cantina Mobilé have joined forces to start of the summer together and even the weather predictions are great!

Belgian chain Hawaiian opens first two restaurants in Amsterdam

Hawaiian, the leading name in healthy Fastfood restaurants, is now conquering the Netherlands and Amsterdam after Belgium. The first location in Amsterdam, located at Ferdinand Bolstraat 53 in the Pijp, opened early July and welcomed a long line of poké bowl fans. A second location in the Bijlmer will follow later this month. With these expansions, the number of Hawaiian locations in the Netherlands grows to six, Maastricht, Eindhoven, Tilburg and Arnhem opened earlier. Utrecht is also scheduled to open in July. At Hawaiian, you can enjoy a delicious bowl on site, as a take-away, or order for home delivery via Deliveroo and UberEats.
