For the first time, the QR-code is used in the wine industry. This new mobile technology is applied at Wijnen & Likeuren Dulst, Blanden (Belgium). The try-out wines come with a QR code which can be scanned with a smartphone. The code links directly to a website where all information about the wine is readable on the screen of the phone: Where is the wine produced? What is the composition? How long can I store the wine? Next to which dish can I serve this wine best?

In 2008 we saw serveral organized events on Twitter, like a winetasting, organized by Bin Ends Wine in the United States. Three weeks in advance you have to order the wine, before participating on the winetasting. Nowadays more and more events are organized on Twitter, like Twiners (dinners), Twirrels (drinks) and Tweetjams.

Storytude developed, in addition to WHAI WHAI’s mobile guide, location-based stories of several German cities. Each chapter will be associated with a spot in the city. From April, Storytude will publish stories about Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Cologne.

A 9 month lasting crowdfunded and crowdsourced project in a restaurant in New York. Each month the restaurant will be runed by a different group of people. After 9 months the restaurant will be demolished.

The Ark Hotel by Remistudio is an eco-friendly design for a hotel that is resistant to weather and completely self-sufficient. Wind turbines and solar panels provide energy, and rainwater is collected for use in the hotel.
