A Starbucks in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia looks just like the other stores in the region. Baristas are handcrafting beverages with the rich aroma of coffee lingering in the air. An entrance with international allure and an open kitchen for the costumers to see how the pastries are being made. Youth Food Movement asks for food education

The Youth Food Movement thinks it should be mandatory to educate every child of the Netherlands about food. Awareness of food, harvest, learning to cook and healthy food at all schools. From the idea of having the right on good, healthy food and that they deserve to learn at an early age what is healthy. You can sign the petition at their website and join the conversation on social media with the hashtag #voedselonderwijs. We support this initiative and are convinced that there are a lot of chefs that could help with cooking classes on schools. lees verder

Bionic Bar – Robot Bartenders at your service

The Harmony of the Seas, the largest cruise ship of the world, has a Bionic Bar for their guests. Instead of a bartender throwing around bottles, glasses and ice you will find a robot arm preparing the cocktails for the guests. MS Harmony of the Seas is an Oasis-class cruise ship from Royal Caribbean International. The ship and its guests visited Rotterdam today, May 24th.  lees verder

Consumers who are visually oriented are constantly seeing high-end lifestyle photo’s on social media, the result is that they also want the same type and quality photo’s. OERS: a Dutch reservation platform for and by restaurant owners

Introduced for the Dutch hospitality industry, OERS, Ons Eigen Reserverings Systeem (Our Own Reservation System). OERS is a new online booking system which has been launched festively on the 9th of May by chef Alain Caron at Restaurant Aan de Poel. The system is different; each participating restaurant owner is co-owner of the system and automatically become member of the cooperative OERS. This allows restaurant owners to decide themselves on the terms and commissions. Where other reservation systems will only become more expensive in the future, OERS will become cheaper. lees verder
