Last summer the roof terrace of the Netil360 building in Hackney (London) was often a bubbley scene. Asher Charman organized ‘Hottub Cinema’ nights, where people enjoyed cinema and champagne from inflatable hot tubs.

The Voor en door Goor foundation will herintroduce an ancient special beer brew from 1463. The project will be financed by crowd funding. The aim is to build a brewery in Goor, that will function as a tourist magnet.
In Harry’s Bar (Singapore) it’s easy for shy customers to connect with other people. They can do this through a QR-code label on the beer bottle. The beer sales doubled because of the stunt. See the video.
Meatballs opened last week in Amsterdam. It’s the first meatball shop in the Netherlands. Meatball restaurants in Belgium and in the USA are a huge success.
Corio and Biet & Boon are working together to develop a pop-up roof garden project on shopping mall Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht. The harvest goes to local restaurants, offices and volunteers. Earlier this year the largest roof garden opened in Amsterdam.
With the Academy Program there is a special focus on bar personnel during the Amsterdam Bar Week this year. At the Double Tree by Hilton Skylounge are various seminars and taste sessions about bitters (John Fee), cognac (Mark Ridgwell) and world class cocktail makers.
With home made 2% discount stickers the ‘Youth Food Movement’ protests Albert Heijn’s decision to pay 2% less to their suppliers. This guerrilla action focuses the attention to the power of consumers to stand up for farmers.
Sandwich chain Subway is starting their own comical American TV series. The series, called ‘4 to 9ers’ is all about the daily events of some part-timers and takes place in a restaurant in a shopping mall. The series are specially developed for Subway and consist of 6 shows for now. The creator of the series is also known from the series ‘Two and a half men’.
Serving a cotton candy in a restaurant is a nice idea, but make it special by serving this on a glow in the dark stick. Also nice to serve in a club or on a party.
Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria will open a new ‘women-only’ restaurant in Las Vegas, named She. Rain curtains and a catwalk will be the eye catchers of the restaurant. The restaurant will open its doors at a new years party.
