Bring Your Own Cutlery (BYOC), an idea by Duebest, a brand on a mission to end single-use plastic utensils starting with Fair-Trade reusable cutlery to launch on the crowd-funding site Kickstarter. Duebest is a new Brooklyn-based brand that starts their sustainable initiative by selling their sleekly designed fork, knife, spoon, and chopstick sets. All made from sustainably sourced teak wood and hand-crafted by Fair Trade artisans in Bali. The set comes in a compact fabric case and retails for $35. Exclusive glass straw upgrades are available for $5 more.

Duebest wants you to BYOC

The cutlery set is hand carved by talented artisans, designed in-house for ease of use and made compact for convenience. It can be used in the office, for travel, camping, hiking, picnics or any time you need an eating utensil. “We created Duebest because we truly believe we can make a positive impact on the plastic crisis. Our impact starts one spoon at a time and every step we take in the right direction can make a difference. We want people to know that, and assure them that all we can do is our best. This is where our name Duebest stems from”, says owner Daphne Sculac. “People get overwhelmed with living a sustainable lifestyle, but we want to make it easier for them by offering good quality products that are durable and better for the environment while also sharing educational resources on being more eco-conscious.” – BobbiJo McCauley says.
