Beyond Steak® now available for the hospitality industry in the Netherlands
Beyond Meat, Inc. (NASDAQ: BYND), a market leader in plant-based meat, presented the Beyond Steak® in the Netherlands for the first time during the Horecava. This plant-based steak has been available to the hospitality industry since January 24th. This launch builds on the recent introduction of the Beyond Chicken-Style products. Beyond Meat’s entire range meets the commitment to offer plant-based products/proteins developed to be indistinguishable in taste from animal meat, with the added nutritional and environmental benefits of plant-based meat. Beyond Steak® will soon be available at Hanos and other foodservice outlets. We just tasted it!

Beyond Steak® vegetable pieces
Beyond Steak® is an innovation that delivers a juicy, tender and delicious bite of fried steak that meat eaters and flexitarians as well as vegetarians and vegans can enjoy. In other countries, the new product has received a rave of reviews and already won multiple awards. Now restaurants in the Netherlands can finally add the Beyond Steak to their sandwiches, bowls, salads, stir-fries, fajitas and other dishes.

Made of
Made of plant-based ingredients such as broad beans and wheat, Beyond Steak® is a good source of protein, with 24 g of protein and 182 calories per 100 gr. It is also low in saturated fat (1 gr per portion) and cholesterol-free. Also very nice: it is easily dispensable and quick and easy to prepare in a frying pan.
Beyond Steak® has been recognized by TIME as “A Healthier Steak” in their 2022 Best Inventions list and meets the nutritional guidelines of the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check Certification Program and the American Diabetes Association’s Better Choices for Life program.
Beyond Chicken-Style products
Since last year, restaurateurs in the Netherlands can also order Beyond Chicken-Style products from Hanos, Sligro and Bidfood. Like all Beyond Meat products, the new Beyond Chicken-Style products are made from plant-based ingredients. Therefore they are just like their animal equivalents in terms of experience, taste and preparation.
Crispy on the outside thanks to the golden breadcrumb coating and incredibly tender and juicy on the inside, these delicious products – including Beyond Tenders, Beyond Nuggets, Beyond Schnitzel and Beyond Burger Chicken-Style – are suitable for carnivores, flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans. The products are a perfect addition to any hot meals, as they can be prepared quickly and easily in the oven or by baking or frying. Tasty convenience at its best!
Eat what you love, without concessions
A recent report concluded that 49% of Dutch respondents have reduced their consumption of meat in the past year, and 35% call themselves flexitarians. The biggest reason for this is better health, followed by concerns about animal welfare. Europe is also seeing greater confidence in the taste and quality of plant-based meat products; 34% of respondents want to replace more meat with a plant-based option in the next 6 months.
