Maritim Hotel Amsterdam will open its doors next year. This week they launched a unique campaign to recruit team members. The hotel is going to help its employees to realize their dream job, even if it is outside the hospitality industry.

Maritum Hotel Amsterdam helps employees realize their dream job
Do you want to become a pilot or a Formula 1 racer? The conference and event Maritim Hotel Amsterdam is going to make sure you can make this future dream come true. With the new recruitment campaign BECOME WHAT YOU WANT (‘WORD WAT JE WILT’ in Dutch), the hotel is looking for more than 300 employees. The hotel does not want to talk about a tight labor market. ‘There are plenty of people to be found,’ says Caroline Receveur, General Manager of Maritim Hotel Amsterdam. ‘You just have to find them in other ways.’
Caroline Receveur: “Besides our guests, our team comes first in our hotel. We want to help our staff to fulfill their future dream, no matter how impossible it may seem. With such a large hotel and network, we can support people to realize their dream job. Whether you want to become a captain of an Airbus A350 or a flutist in the famous Concert Gebouw Orchestra (famous orchestra from Amsterdam), we will help you. And not only by offering you a (temporary) job, but also, for example, by helping to pay for your studies and by involving our own international contacts. We have hired a number of people especially for this purpose”.
Service-oriented economy | “We teach you all the soft-skills that will come useful in your further career”
Caroline Receveur: “Whatever job you want to pursue in the future, working in the hospitality industry always gives you a good foundation. In our hotel, we teach you all the soft skills that will come in useful in your future career: communicating with people, quickly solving problems, making sure you make someone else happy. In our service-oriented economy, hospitality is basic to every job. Whether you become a doctor or a bus driver. Of course, we also hire people who want to move up in the hospitality industry, who want to become a sommelier, hotel manager or housekeeper. We also guide these people and give them a chance to develop themselves within our hotel or within the German chain of Maritim Hotels with almost 50 hotels in 10 countries”.
Not only is the strategy for finding new employees innovative, but also the way it is communicated. For example, sending a CV is not necessary. That’s really out of date. A whatsapp message is more than enough and we will contact you.
In the summer of 2024, Maritim Hotel Amsterdam will open its doors. In total, the hotel will house 579 rooms including a 340-square-meter presidential suite on the 31st floor, six restaurants including two rooftop outlets, a wellness center and meeting, conference and event facilities for 4,651 people.
