Aloft hotels introduce a voice-activated room
Imagine you don’t have to get out of bed to change temperature in the room, or find a light switch in the middle of the night. With Aloft’s new voice-activated system you just have to give Siri the message to switch on the lights, control the air conditioning, put on some music, turn the television on or off etc. They call it ‘Project Jetson’ and it’s an app that runs on an iPad that controls the room using Apple’s Homekit and Siri.
Voice-activated room
The voice-activated hotel room comes from the Aloft tech lab. The article at Fast Company gives you more insights in the innovations from this tech lab. They will continue to refine the technology behind Project Jetson over the next few months, and if guests reviews are good, it will be made available to the rest of the Aloft hotel network. The system helps to create a special mood in the room as well: Say ‘reset’ and the lights in the room to appear how they would when you first step into the door. If you say ‘relax’ the lights automatically become warmer and less harsh. Media accounts, stream movies, music and Siri as concierge is available on the iPad.
