A new job at hotels: ‘photo ambassador’
A photo ambassador? Yes a photo ambassador! A new twist to the longline of ideas, trying to influence the quality of pictures from your hotel. For the ‘photo ambassador’ you have to check in at the Four Seasons Resort at Maui. And if you watch the video above, you will have to agree that there must be great spots at this resort to take photos.
At the website of Luxury launches we read that the Four Seasons Resort at Maui has announced Scott Miles as their first ‘Photo Ambassador’. He will help individual guests and groups to create memories of a perfect holiday at the hotel, using the guest’s cameras. The next step in helping to create the perfect picture!
Always new ideas with photo’s – use them!
The selfie trend is here to stay, we already wrote this a while back, giving examples like the contest of the #sunsetselfie the Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach (Los Angeles) created. Also back in 2014 we wrote about the luxury Mandarin Oriental hotel in Paris. The hotel launched a ‘Selfie in Paris’ campaign. Offering their guests a tour of Paris’ best selfie spots with a private car and driver. The Four Seasons Resort at Maui is going even further with their ‘photo ambassador’ Scott, better known as ‘Smiles’ by the guests and staff.
Miles joined the property as a security guard and often found himself offering to take group photos of guests at key moments like sunset and sunrise. Before he knew it, he became the hotel company’s first official photo ambassador, offering his photography service on request. Besides taking the pictures, Miles is also a great guide, when it comes to finding the perfect picture-worthy-spot across the resort. They’re also displaying photos of their guests at the homepage of their website.
A photo ambassador? Why not?
I recently stayed at the Adler Mountain Lodge at Alpe di Siusi, Italy where they offer their guests the possibility to take a #fototourwithArik, through the beautiful landscape. Although I normally would prefer to ski, I took an afternoon to learn a couple of things from taking photos in the snow. A great way to explore the surroundings, and check out Instagram with that hashtag! Another great way to create a story through pictures. As Arik would have been the ‘photo ambassador’ we probably would have asked him to take a picture of our family in front of this beautiful hotel! ^Marjolein van Spronsen
