They started selling the McVegan early October and it will be available until November 21. Last Tuesday, this brilliant advertisement for the Maestro burger from McDonalds Netherlands aired. The reactions at the advertisement have been almost unanimously positive. The advertisement shows how you should enjoy the first bite of a Maestro Burger… it’s accompanied via a live connection by Guido’s Orchestra from Guido Dieteren and the singing of soprano Wendy Kokkelkoren. In August 2013 we’ve spotted the brand-free advertising of TBWA Paris for McDonald’s. The campaign consisted of various close-up images of popular McDonald’s products without branding. The latest campaign of TBWA Paris for McDonald’s consists out of simple graphic illustrations of McDonald’s products. The items Big Mac, cheeseburger, fries, Sunday, chicken nuggets and filet-o-fish are expressed in a simple illustration without text but only the small ‘M’. The simple and colored graphic illustrations are set against a white background, so they are immediately recognizable.

McDonald’s Italy introduces its new local burger

McDonald’s Italy has introduced its new local burger ‘Gran Piemontese’. The burger comes from the Piedmont region and is made of 100% meat of the famous Italian Piedmonts cow breed. The ‘Gran Piemontese’ will be available in nearly 500 locations of McDonalds in Italy. Earlier we spotted the app ‘TrackMyMacca‘ in Australia, where the guest can see where the ingredients originate from and what happens before they are served.

McDonald’s is testing the concept of ‘Build your own burger’ in Laguna Niguel, California. Consumers can make a choice between different toppings and create their own customized burger. The new Dollar Menu gives consumers the opportunity to choose from five types of sandwiches and different sauces and toppings. McDonalds thinks that customization is an opportunity and wants to respond to the shifting eating habits and compete with the other major players in the market. Whether the concept will be implemented is the question.

Have a steak breakfast at McDonald’s

McDonald’s added steak to the breakfast menu in the USA. Besides the regular breakfast menu, customers can now for example choose a bagel with steak, egg and cheese. At this moment the steak as breakfast is available at approximately 9,600 locations in the USA. Besides this heavy breakfast item, McDonald’s is also testing the bundled ‘Blitz Box’ in Kansas City. Customers can order the Blitz Box for $ 14,99, it contains two Quarter Pouders with cheese, two medium orders of French fries and 10 Chicken McNuggets with dipping sauces. The Blitz Box is tied into a promotion with the Kansas City Chiefs and will be available during the football season. If the Blitz Box is successful, McDonald’s might introduce this bundled menu at multiple locations.
