Named for the traditional 20th anniversary gift of platinum, the offer includes a seven-night honeymoon at any Mandarin Oriental hotel worldwide when booking a wedding at the Miami hotel.

Great initiative by this large key player within the hospitality industry, showing the importance to always keep utmost attention for creating exceptional and unforgettable guest experiences (no matter how large the organization is). A great example for other chains? Although this ‘Platinum Wedding and Honeymoon’ offer has a high price tag it might be an opportunity for other chains as well, a kind of ‘all in one wedding’ offer.  read more

The lobby of the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Paris | Has the only Christian Louboutin pop-up nail bar

Mandarin Oriental, Paris will host the French capital’s one and only Christian Louboutin pop up nail bar from 17 June – 7 July 2018. To make the manicure experience even more memorable, guests can enjoy savoury cocktails inspired by the colours and names of the French designer newest nail polishes.

Another example of how to make your lobby more vivid. The Mandarin Oriental ‘s Bar 8 bartenders also created three new cocktails to drink after the 30-minutes Christian Louboutin manicure.  read more

A very Harrods Christmas at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park

Although it’s still Summer, we’ve spotted the first hotel with a great new luxury package for Christmas. The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London launched its Christmas Season 2015 with Harrods.

The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London is partnering with world famous department store Harrods to celebrate Christmas 2015. The hotel will be showcased in two of the Harrods festive window displays. The windows will be unveiled on 1 November 2015.

Teddy Bear Tea

In honor of ‘Benedict’, Harrods 2015 Christmas Teddy, the head pastry chef Heather Kaniuk will make petit gâteaux, macaroons and handmade chocolates for a Teddy Bear Tea. The tea will be served at The Rosebery from 23 November 2015 through to 10 January 2016.

A very Harrods Christmas in the lobby

Harrods will transform the public spaces at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, including the marble Lobby and The Rosebery, with a red and gold colour theme. They will create a huge Christmas Tree in the lobby which will be unveiled on 27 November 2015. (with a ‘tree lighting party’?)

Guests will be able to book a ‘Very Harrods Christmas accommodation package’, based on two rooms for two adults and two children. The package includes: one night accommodation, full English breakfast in the dining room overlooking Hyde Park, a Christmas Welcome gift on arrival and presents in the guestroom including the Harrods 2015 Teddy Bear and a VIP appointment with Harrods Gift Bureau to find the perfect gift for your loved ones. A Very Harrods Christmas accommodation package is valid between 23 November 2015 and 30 December2015, and is subject to availability.

Edible Christmas creations at Mandarin Oriental

The Mandarin Cake Shop opened its doors in the 1970s and since 1987 Yves Matthey is the Executive Pastry Chef of this beautiful treat shop at the Mandarin Oriental. The signature items of The Mandarin Cake Shop include the cheesecake, the chocolate truffle cake, home-made XO sauce and rose petal jam, of which the recipe stays a mystery. There are beautiful (Christmas) cakes and pies for sale in the shop.

Curry pop-up in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Boston

The Mandarin Oriental, Boston Curry Pop-up will be in the hotel’s lobby lounge every day from Sept. 30-Nov. 1, 12 pm until 1:30 pm. They choose for the curry theme to pay homage to the hotel’s Thai roots in Bangkok. The curry pop-up offers a choice of 2 Thai Curry Bowl’s who recipes originate from the Sala Rim Naam Thai restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok. Great to use the original cuisine from the chain as pop-up in a hotel lobby. An originated Dutch hotel would serve ‘stamppot’ (in between stew and hotchpot) in a pop-up lobby restaurant during the winter. At the Sala Rim Naam Thai Restaurant they have an eye for small details, like a rose in a wine cooler or flowers in an ice sculpture. We are wondering if the pop-up restaurant in Boston also implements these details. Only the atmosphere of the terrace of the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok can’t be equalized in Boston.

Oktoberfest 2024 experience at the Mandrin Oriental Munich

The ‘Taste the world cuisine’ at Shell cafes in the Netherlands now sells a sweet BBQ bacon bun and a pulled BBQ chicken wrap from BBQ chef Ralph de Kok. If you buy one of them, you can also win one Komado barbecue from Big Green Egg and a cookbook from Ralph. Read how in the article!

Another special swimming pool for dogs, this time ‘Mutts & Martinis’ in Florida. Including a bar where the dog owners can enjoy a drink and even order food. Last week we wrote about a dog swimming pool in France, when will one open in the Netherlands?

A number of pop-up beach clubs from major brands, we previously wrote about Gucci in the South of France and now a pop-up from Louis Vuitton in the beach bar of the Mandarin Oriental in Bodrum. And in Malaysia there is a Dioriviera! This pop-up is at the Ember Beach Club of the One&Only Desaru Coast.

Last year we already wrote an article about Anya Hindmarch‘s special ice cream project, you can taste her special ice cream flavors again until August 27 at Anya Village in London. And a lesson on how to create butlers: the Hôtel Belles Rives in Juan-les-Pins on the French Riviera introduces a ‘Water Ski Butler’.

In Milan, the ‘Ichi Station sushi bar’ chain has opened a new location on Via Solferino, with a special design in peachy colors. However, we think the packaging of their sushi take-out is very cool! Maybe an inspiration for other sushi chains!
