A number of new concepts have opened in the past few months. Last month, among other things, we wrote about the enthusiasm for Matcha concepts in Amsterdam! This month a little more variety in the newest hospitality concepts, from a Thai dessert shop in Utrecht or a restaurant in Bloemendaal to a unique pastry concept in Amsterdam! Also a special restaurant where they combine sound & taste and a well-known Mediterranean Street Food concept coming to Amsterdam. We wish all these entrepreneurs the best of luck! Below is a list of 7 of the newest catering concepts.

A list of 7 of the newest hospitality concepts of the Netherlands

Of course, this list is never complete, but we are going to dedicate articles to the newest hospitality concepts we spot through Instagram from now on, at least once a month. Of course, you can always keep sending press releases with images about openings, but we feel that many young entrepreneurs have more confidence in the reach of social media. Hence our choice to highlight these young entrepreneurs this way.

Miznon | Wild Mediterranean Street Food

Miznon is the wild brainchild of celebrated Israeli chef Eyal Shani in Vienna’s First District. The first Miznon opened in Tel Aviv in 2011, followed by Paris, Singapore, Vienna, Melbourne, and NYC. Shani aims to capture every sense of Tel Aviv’s street food scene in a loud, rustic, casual space, infusing each pita and dish with his trademark originality. Miznon’s menu changes daily to reflect the freshest produce in season but always uses a special pita crafted for Miznon by Israel’s world-famous Angel Bakeries. As mentioned on their website the next location should be Amsterdam! Other locations are opening soon too: Barcelona, Prague and Berlin.

They recently had a 1.5-month pop-up at the Lindenhoff in Baambrugge and they are now waiting for their CUE to open! Inspired by Japanese listening bars, they are going to combine ‘sound & taste’! According to their Instagram, they are now looking for staff so if you like music… Link to their website is in the title.

Charcuteria Amsterdam | A Charcuterie & Pasta bar

A new restaurant from Barlotta Amsterdam: Charcuteria Amsterdam. This concept should open soon too! The photos they have posted on their Instagram so far have a lovely Italian vibe including a nona cooking. Charcuteria Amsterdam is right next to Barlotta, however the experience is completely different. Anyone that enjoys great hams, olives, tiny fishes in oil and nuts will have a great time at Charcuteria Amsterdam. Would you like to go out but don’t have time to make it a long dinner? The pasta bar offers a quick but delicious meal! We are looking forward to the opening of Charcuteria Amsterdam on September 21st. Do you want to visit the newest addition of Barlotta yourself, you’ll be welcome from 4 pm on Tuesday-Friday and from 12pm on Saturday-Sunday.

In 2023, we wrote about the charcuterie concept Kured in New York and Boston, which we are also still very excited about.

Restaurant Éclusier in Bloemendaal

Restaurant Éclusier is the newest fine dining restaurant in Bloemendaal run by chef Yorick de Groot and Michelle Leone. They recently opened and if you check out their Instagram post below, a visit to the restaurant is a must for foodies! Yorick chose a simple and pure cooking style in which the ingredients take centre stage. Together with Michelle, who is not only responsible for the wine list as the maître-sommelier but is also a specialist in the field of cheese, they try to ensure the ultimate experience for their guests with beautiful dishes and a great atmosphere. On Instagram they continue to grace guests with knowledge and passion by introducing and sharing information about ingredients, like for example the turbot.

VelaChaThai | Thai desserts and tea in Utrecht

‘It’s TEA TIME It’s FREETIME’ is the slogan of VelaChaTai on Steenweg 1 in Utrecht. Their Instagram account is linked in the title. They have been serving all kinds of Thai tea, shaved ice, sticky rice and bingsu since last July! It is the first Thai concept to serve only Thai desserts and tea in the Netherlands.

Farina | Italian comfort food in Utrecht

Opened in July, Farina restaurant at 53 Twijnstraat, belongs to real Italians who serve gnocchi, pizza, panini and their sweet buns, the latter of which do look very tasty! We also wrote about a gnoccheria in NYC, Gnocchi on 9th. Farina is not such a single product concept but their gnocchi looks super tasty too! And it remains a convenient product to sell in a to-go box, check it out! Their Instagram account, linked in the title, looks pretty authentic too!

Just check out their Instagram account, mouthwatering! This September they have a pop up in collaboration with Giuseppe Lombardo! Their website is linked in the title.
