Do you also enjoy scrolling on Instagram? We do!! Every week we come across inspiration that we often share in our weekly article ‘Trends we spotted’. This week we came across so many of them! Among others, a ‘duck in your coffee’, a bouquet of croissants under the motto ‘are roses red or bread’, hot milkshakes, Cookizza’s by Cedric Grolet and much more. That deserves its own article!

A duck in your coffee
Spotted on Maqaroon’s Instagram, a rubber duck made of whipped cream on top of a cup of coffee! We expect many variations of this little duck. Nice to brighten up dishes with molds like this. Maqaroon has also already shown a little duck and hearts made of rice on their Instagram – fun for a children’s meal!

Valentine’s Day | Roses are red or bread?
Spotted on the Instagram of Dominique Ansel, the French baker from New York: a bouquet of croissants! They make these bouquets with six croissants on Valentine’s Day only. We’ve seen bouquets with chocolate in them before, but croissants are new to us! Inspiration for bakers?

Cedric Grolet sells Cookizza in Paris and more croissants
Spotted on the Instagram of Le Guide Ultime de Paris: Cedric Grolet’s sweet pizza dots-style cookies (Cookizza) and croissant-style buns. Looks particularly tasty, and for boutique pastry chef like Cedric Grolet, it’s reasonably priced.

Spotted on the Instagram of the American pizza chain Pieology, at their place you can order your own calzone as of February 6. Nice idea for pizzeria’s?

Fried sandwiches from Japan
Fried sandwiches, with both sweet and savory fillings! Looks special, spotted on Sugoi Mart’s Instagram, according to them the concept of Age 3 in Tokyo’s Ginza district is also new in Japan. We are curious to see when we will see them in the Netherlands! Other ‘Japanese style sandwiches’ we first spotted in 2019 and since 2022 these delicious sandwiches are also sold at Ranchi in Amsterdam.

Hot milkshakes
Costa Coffee has introduced the world’s first hot milkshakes at a pop-up in London. However, the pop-up ‘The Hot Milkshake Unbelieva bar’ ends on February 10th. The pop-up looks great, and visitors could win prizes. We are curious to see if these hot milkshakes will be picked up!

Hot Chocolate Ring Croissants
Another variation on a croissant, a round croissant filled with dark hot chocolate, topped with whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, marshmallow’s and shaved white chocolate. It’s served with a straw! We think you probably have to drink this really fast before it gets soggy! Spotted on the Instagram of Lakon Paris Patisserie, in Newton in Massachusetts. They do also serve other beautiful variations of croissants!
