Fashion and lifestyle brand ELLE

Maison ELLE Amsterdam may be a new star in the international hotel firmament, but the name will sound familiar to many people. Not surprisingly. The newly formed chain is part of the world-renowned fashion and lifestyle brand ELLE. That includes publishing a wide range of influential magazines and online magazines, as well as products collections and services such as cafés, salons, etc., reaching some 250 million people around the world every month. In the Netherlands alone, ELLE accounts for some 3.5 million readers.

ELLE – world leader in its specific industry – is generally associated with style, health, wellness, beauty and social trends, things that are also expressed in various ways in both the hotel concept and in the trendy and healthy way in which the luxurious rooms and suites are furnished. Think of style, decoration and appearance as well as the emphasis on art, youth and joie de vivre, in short: the trendy French life in the heart of Amsterdam.

French art of life

The luxurious boutique hotel has undergone a gradual transformation in recent months. With 31 rooms and suites, categorized in 6 different room types, which offers comfort to all who seek some tranquility in the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. A minimalist design with a French touch brings the French art of living to The Netherlands and characterizes the hotel. Upon entering the hotel, the pillars of Maison ELLE are not to be missed. The artworks that have subtly been applied in the interior design of the hotel represent the French art de vivre, and on top of this, the realization of a spa in the garden is being planned, representing the smiling beauty.

Operation Maison ELLE is done by Black Label Hospitality

The operation of the new Maison ELLE is in the hands of Black Label Hospitality. This successful, still young hotel group from southern Limburg has developed five exceptional hotels, including Merici Hotel Sittard (the old monumental Ursuline Monastery), Mercure Valkenburg and DoubleTree by Hilton Sittard, the first Dutch Hilton Hotel in the south of the Netherlands. Late last year it was announced that Black Label Hospitality will also start working on the future Curio Collection by Hilton Eindhoven (castle Gemert), which is currently undergoing extensive renovations and is expected to welcome its first guests in early 2025.

EXTENDAM

EXTENDAM is a French independent asset management company dedicated to private and institutional investors that has invested in more than 350 hotels across Western Europe, representing a combined asset value of over €3.3 billion. EXTENDAM partners with global operators and franchisors, white label management companies, as well as local hoteliers. EXTENDAM partnered with Black Label Hospitality to acquire the monumental property located at Anna van den Vondelstraat early 2023.

Maison ELLE in Amsterdam

Just like its slightly older sister in Paris, Maison ELLE Amsterdam can be found on a special location: on the edge of the Vondelpark, within walking distance of many of the most important Dutch landmarks, including the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum and the Concertgebouw. Maison ELLE has its own city garden and is located in the middle of the Museum Quarter. It‘s less than a ten-minute walk from the canals and famous neighborhoods such as the Jordaan and the Pijp. It caters mainly to international guests. The hotel has good accessibility, not least to the international airport Schiphol.

The city has a growing demand for hotels and a sharp increase in the number of overnight stays, while the accommodation supply remains limited. Since the City of Amsterdam put a cap on new hotel construction in 2017, pressure on hotel land in the city has increased. By 2022, Amsterdam was Europe’s fourth most expensive city in terms of hotels.
