At horecatrends.com we spot many national and international trends on a daily basis. We pick the most interesting ones to write about, the other trends we use in our weekly column ‘Trends we spotted this week’.

This week a ‘trends we spotted’ in summer vibes! With links to a number of Instagram posts including one with a frozen Aperol Spritz recipe that could sell very well at your outdoor dining space on warm days. And about the ‘High cocktails time’ on Saturday afternoon at FAK Utrecht.

The ‘Taste the world cuisine’ at Shell cafes in the Netherlands now sells a sweet BBQ bacon bun and a pulled BBQ chicken wrap from BBQ chef Ralph de Kok. If you buy one of them, you can also win one Komado barbecue from Big Green Egg and a cookbook from Ralph. Read how in the article!

Another special swimming pool for dogs, this time ‘Mutts & Martinis’ in Florida. Including a bar where the dog owners can enjoy a drink and even order food. Last week we wrote about a dog swimming pool in France, when will one open in the Netherlands?

A number of pop-up beach clubs from major brands, we previously wrote about Gucci in the South of France and now a pop-up from Louis Vuitton in the beach bar of the Mandarin Oriental in Bodrum. And in Malaysia there is a Dioriviera! This pop-up is at the Ember Beach Club of the One&Only Desaru Coast.

Last year we already wrote an article about Anya Hindmarch‘s special ice cream project, you can taste her special ice cream flavors again until August 27 at Anya Village in London. And a lesson on how to create butlers: the Hôtel Belles Rives in Juan-les-Pins on the French Riviera introduces a ‘Water Ski Butler’.

In Milan, the ‘Ichi Station sushi bar’ chain has opened a new location on Via Solferino, with a special design in peachy colors. However, we think the packaging of their sushi take-out is very cool! Maybe an inspiration for other sushi chains!

Shell’s ‘taste the world cuisine’ second theme is in collaboration with BBQ chef Ralph de Kok

TV chef Ralph de Kok has barbecue programs on RTL4, SBS6 and 24Kitchen. The focus of the theme range at the Shell Cafés in the Netherlands is American cuisine. Ralph has developed recipes for the sweet BBQ bacon bun and the pulled BBQ chicken wrap. The products are available from July 12th to October 3rd 2023 at Shell stations with a bakery. Shell guests have a chance to win one Big Green Egg Komado barbecue worth approximately €1100 and Ralph’s third cookbook, ‘A world trip around the barbecue’. You must share a photo with one of the sandwiches on Instagram and tag Shell Nederland, Ralph de Kok and Shell Café. It is possible to submit entries from July 13th to September 20th, 2023. High cocktails time on Saturday at FAK Utrecht

We spotted an Instagram post from FAK Utrecht about their High Cocktail Time. You can enjoy it there every Saturday between 13:00 and 16:00! You can book it as from 2 people via their website (link in the title). Among other things you will get, 4 cocktails of your choice, sushi, gyoza, trump prawns, beef & tuna tataki and edamame beans. We regularly have a discussion about what exactly you should post on Instagram as a restaurant, the beautiful pictures of your dishes or interior? Or are you going to show how it works in practice? We think the post of French Asian Kitchen Utrecht is a good example of the latter!

Mutts & Martinis | Florida’s first dog waterpark and full liquor bar

That’s a special location to walk your dog and meet with friends! Last week we wrote about the first dog pool in France but Mutts & Martinis in Florida is the ultimate play area for dogs and their owners! You can even order food ahead or have food delivered to the bar. The serve themed drinks like the Mastiff Mojito and ‘The Teddy Bear’ (an espresso martini called after the owners dog). And they sell YoPup Frozen Yogurt Cups!

It’s popular to have a pop-up beach club by a grand mode brand, a couple of weeks ago we wrote about the pop-up Gucci Beach Club at Loulou Ramatuelle and now we spotted two other pop-ups. One of them is pop-up boutique and charming transformation of the ‘Blue Beach’ by Louis Vuitton of the Mandarin Oriental in Bodrum, Turkey. Inspired by Maison’s new ‘By the Pool’ collection, the store incorporates fresh tones and natural materials while the men’s and women’s clothing and accessories feature Louis Vuitton’s signature details.

Dioriviera | Pop-up at the Ember Beach Club of the One&Only Desaru Coast

Dioriviera has arrived at One&Only Desaru Coast in Malaysia, bringing the legendary French fashion house’s emblematic style to Ember Beach Club. For the ultimate entrance, arrive via the Dior-clad ferry from Singapore.

The ice cream project by Anya Hindmarch is back

Last year we wrote an article on the peculiar ice cream project by Anya Hindmarch whit exceptional flavours like: Heinz Tomato Ketchup, Kikkoman Soy Sauce, Birds Eye Chunky Pickle, Maldon Salt, KP Original Salted Peanuts and 9 more. This craziest ice cream shop in London is back! You can taste all the strange but handmade ice cream flavors, available in small batches which are made in Devon with the highest quality ingredients, till August 27. Available at the Anya village. A ‘Water Ski Butler’ at Hôtel Belles Rives

The five-star hotel, Hôtel Belles Rives, which is conveniently positioned above the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean at Juan-les-Pins on the French Riviera, just launched a new ‘Water Ski Butler’ to help both beginners and pros improve their skiing chops. Great design for dining in and take-out at the Ichi Station sushi bar

The Ichi Station sushi bar chain opened a new location on Via Solferino in Milan. Check out the images of the great design by creative director Ana Hern of Valencia, Spain-based Masquespacio in the article on the Coolhunter, link in the title. It’s the 8th location of this sushi bar chain in Milan (and 1 in Turin) but it’s the first one for dining in. And with a lot of peachiness! We also love the take out boxes of the chain!

A frozen Aperol Spritz | tip from the self-proclaimed CEO of Spritz season

Easy to make and great to serve at hot days! Check out the Instagram post of Join Jules below for the recipe. We’re going to try it at home! She has more cocktail recipes on her account. We don’t have many ‘frozen’-cocktails on the beverage menu’s yet in the Netherlands but we think a frozen Aperol Spritz might be a success.
