Blanc de Noir
Sommelier and co-owner of Design & Wine, Diederik Walhof, thinks Blanc de Noir deserves more attention. Therefore, he has asked Wijngoed Gelders Laren if they could make a wine for his brand. Vineyard owners Gert Jan Voortman and Diana van der Biezen of Wijngoed Gelders Laren focus entirely on the highest quality grape cultivation, and you can taste that in the Larens Blanje Bleu. The wine has a fresh acidity and playful aromas of red fruit, which makes it go well with fresh-sour dishes such as ceviche or a Greek salad.
Larens Blanje Blue including matching music list on Spotify
The Larens Blanje Bleu’s label was designed by co-owner of Design & Wine, designer Rose Groot. It is inspired by the roaring 20’s and matches the wine’s Art Deco theme. To complete the experience, the wine comes with a matching playlist on Spotify called ‘Larens Blanje Bleu’, curated by ‘the DJ with good sense guarantee’, DJ Meester Moeilijk.
The wine is available in Design & Wine’s store and a wine cellar at Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 137 in the center of Amsterdam. The wine cellar also functions as a tasting room and is much like a speakeasy. This is because you first have to pass by the kitchen of Melly’s Cookies to get there. You can also order the wine through Design & Wine’s website. Design & Wine invites everyone to enjoy Larens Blanje Bleu and soak up the roaring 20’s atmosphere.
