Mirabeau Rosé Gin | Perfect to make pale pink cocktails
Mirabeau Rosé Gin, a sophisticated dry gin with a category redefining spirit, created by Alex Ignatieff, the gin brand director of Domaine Mirabeau in France. The Rosé Gin is made with the scented grape alcohol extracted during the dealcoholisation process when making the lower alcohol and vegan rosé of Mirabeau, Forever Summer. Together with the chosen botanicals, this small batch gin stands out in the growing pink gin category. Mirabeau Rosé Gin is a true gin with juniper being a dominant component. The delicate signature flavours come from traditional distillation with no need for sugary additions.
Like all the light pink rosés and sparkling rosé from Domaine Mirabeau, the gin looks beautiful and might be an asset for cocktails like Mirabeau Rosé Gin Fizz Recipe or a festive Punch cocktail recipe, in the article you will find a video about how to make the latter! The Domaine Mirabeau also sells 5 distinctive rosés, rosé with low alcohol and vegan (Mirabeau Forever Summer Rosé) and prêt-à-porter cans of rosé to go!
Mirabeau Rosé Gin | Pink Cocktails
Inspired by the abundance of botanicals growing wild on the Mirabeau wine estate near Saint Tropez, and living in an area steeped in the history of world-famous perfume trade, they created an unique and original gin. Mirabeau has used grape-spirit as its base, with its award-winning Classic Provence Rosé as an element in the distillate. Botanical ingredients, precious to any Grasse Perfumer, add further aromatic layers and delicious complexity. The result is a pale pink gin, with a unique style, bringing a burst of Riviera aromas to captivate the increasing numbers of gin lovers worldwide. The gin is distilled in a 2500L copper still, called Lily-Fleur, and it distills about 1500L at a time so they can fit the basket press in (with the botanicals).
The bottle is a design of one of the owners Jeany Cronk, based on an old perfume flacon with hints of a retro look from the perfume industry. It’s also reminiscent of the 1930s glamour of the French Riviera. On the label, Jeany included a gentle nod to the world-famous ceramic tile industry of the Provence.
Tasting Notes of the gin
At its core Mirabeau Rosé Gin is a classic Dry Gin. Mirabeau has used a 100% grape-based neutral spirit which adds roundness and subtle fruitiness to the palate. The addition of some Mirabeau Classic Rosé gives luxurious texture to the finished Gin. Lemons and Coriander add layers of fresh citrus character. Orris and Angelica roots impart floral and earthy tones respectively. Rose Petals, Lavender and Jasmine are used sparingly to bring a variety of floral tones. Finally, Bay, Thyme and Rosemary add a finely balanced herbaceous character to the blend. The various components bring a softness to a classic core, making this gin round enough to be sipped alone. Mirabeau suggests adding a dry vermouth for the perfect Martini or topping with your favourite tonic. Mirabeau has partnered with Fever Tree Aromatic Tonic to create the signature Mirabeau Rosé Gin and Tonic, garnished with a sprig of rosemary.
