Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof & restaurant LOF in Ghent | Open after renovation

Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof, situated at the Hoogstraat in Ghent, will open its doors on the 6^th of October. The Louis XIV style townhouse hotel with 157 rooms, bars, an extensive living room, salons (for both business and private meetings) and a spa was completely renovated into a boutique hotel. Modest luxury with soft colors and rich natural materials will determine the atmosphere. Not only the hotel was renovated, the well-known LOF Restaurant has also been completely renewed. Unique is that the restaurant gets the signature of Ron Blaauw – one of the most well-known star chefs in the Netherlands. Blaauw will translate his successful Ron Gastrobar concept for LOF.

Chef Ron Blaauw will translate his Dutch formula for LOF restaurant

Ron Blaauw is known for a contemporary cooking style. In 2013 he adapted his restaurant Ron Blaauw Amsterdam (two Michelin stars) to the beloved Ron Gastrobar-concept. Within this concept is it important to enjoy the culinary high-quality cuisine in an informal, no-nonsense setting. In recent years, this concept has become his trademark in the Amsterdam region. “It is a long-cherished wish of me to set foot in Belgium, I experience it as a great honor to do this together with the Gastrobar-concept, and together with the talented chef Hannes Vandebotermet and his team. Belgium stands for quality and culinary enjoyment. Honestly, Ghent and its surrounding area have so much to offer.” Blaauw replies, on the question if he will be working in the kitchen of LOF: “This will certainly be the case at times. The restaurant is already successful and a well-known name in Ghent and that’s where we continue to build on. The brigade of LOF Restaurant remains under the inspiring leadership of chef Maatman. Together we are going to develop beautiful dishes which will fit within the Gastrobar-concept and the culinary heritage of Flanders”.

If you’re not living in Ghent it’s almost impossible to escape from booking a night at the wonderful Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof while dining at LOF. Many (known) international stars and people from Ghent already knew how to find their way to this luxury hotel. In the summer of 2018 the hotel was closed in order to start the major metamorphosis and from the 6^th of October the building in the historic centre will be reopened. LOF Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, from Tuesday to Saturday. With good weather, guests can enjoy the lovely terrace in the courtyard garden. The private dining rooms are available for up to eight people.
