Hill Hungry Horse Pub | Glittery gravy as a side dish
December is a month full of festive events including Christmas dinner with family and friends. For many chefs (whether at home or at a restaurant) the perfect moment to show off. In search for original Christmas recipes we stumbled on glittering gravy which is served at The Fox Under The Hill Hungry Horse pub in England. A guaranteed and sparkling success!
Glittery gravy
The idea for the gravy was born at The Fox Under the Hill Hungry Horse pub on Shooters Hill Road. They offer guests the chance to ‘upgrade’ their traditional Christmas dinners with a side portion of glittery gravy throughout December.
The pub, which is famed for its generous portions, introduced the festive gravy to add an extra touch of sparkle to its Christmas menu. The glitter-infused side order can be added to a selection of festive meals, including Traditional Turkey with all the trimmings, Butternut and Cashew Nut Roast and Christmas Pie.
Ashish Patel, general manager at the Fox Under the Hill, said: “Christmas is one of our favourite times of the year, as it’s the one time we can go all-out on festive decorations, twinkling lights and Christmas cheer! We’ve seen some wacky food trends over the years, and our glittery gravy is no exception – it’s the perfect way spread festive cheer in December. We’ve had some great reactions from guests so far as they add a bit of seasonal sparkle to their Christmas meals with our glittering gravy. It would be great to see the dish added to all Hungry Horse Christmas menus across the UK!”
We also thought it was a nice and fun addition to the Christmas dinner. Whether you are a hobby cook or chef at a restaurant, the glittery gravy is a sparkling addition during Christmas dinner!
