New Amsterdam in Madurodam | To gather or party in the smallest city in the Netherlands
Madurodam, the smallest city in the Netherlands, has a new spectacular indoor family attraction and Madurodam Events has two extra spaces for business and private events. The New Amsterdam in Madurodam is the new attraction in a New Amsterdam 17th century decor. With the opening of these special rooms, the number of meeting and private events rooms in Madurodam is ten in total, suitable for groups of 10 to 1,000 persons.
New Amsterdam
The new event venues in Madurodam are located in and around the ‘Schreierstoren’ (weepers tower), the impressive entrance of the new attraction at the theme park. This tower in Amsterdam was the starting point for seamen of the VOC in the 17th century. Today, brave visitors of Madurodam, led by Peter Stuyvesant, can relive this crossing to New York in the 17th century. Also in business setting. Check out the commercial for New Amsterdam. Madurodam offers space for smaller groups, for example for an informal meeting, in the nock of the ‘Schreierstoren’. Special to this space is the unique view over the theme park. The second location is in the new attraction of Madurodam, on the city square of New Amsterdam. This is the place where visitors by day can defend the city against the attacking English with cannon. In the evening, this historic square offers space for private dining, all under the eye of no-one less than Peter Stuyvesant himself.
Great stories from the Netherlands
Madurodam has grown into a theme park in recent years, bringing the great stories of the Netherlands to life. Through dozens of things to do, digital media and indoor attractions, the theme park in The Hague shows the Dutch highlights, like the First Free State Assembly in Dordrecht, the European championship in ’88, and since recently the Dutch roots of New Amsterdam. At almost every new indoor attraction Madurodam offers rental facilities for meetings and events. For example, in the Court of the Netherlands, guests can meet at the wooden table where the First Free State Assembly took place.
The future of Madurodam
Madurodam will eventually add more meeting facilities to the current conference room facilities. Early July, the theme park received permission from the Hague City Council to expand with 0.7 hectares. As part of the expansion plans, there will be more indoor pavilions and indoor attractions in Madurodam.
