A gin tonic train came to London
Thursday, the 11th of May, in partnership with Tanqueray No. Ten Gin, Belmond launched what they’re calling ‘The Dinner’ event, a magical vintage train filled with all kinds of gin-related delights. The train began at London Victoria station, where you got greeted with a Gin & Tonic, and then took you on a round trip journey through the countryside. While you were sitting, relaxing, and ‘riding’ through the hills, guests experienced great food and drinks. During the event they will served an onboard seven courses meal designed to complement Tanqueray No. Ten gin. After the guests were done eating, you got to do a masterclass on creating martinis, followed by a talk about the heritage of gin. At the end of the journey, all guests were given a mysterious present as a souvenir. You ‘only’ had to pay £450 for a ticket.

Aldi in Britain is selling G&T popsicles. With an alcohol content of 4.5% vol., these are for adults only! Each 80ml Gin & Tonic Popsicle contains 11% Gin. We hope with all the rumor around this popsicle Aldi will start selling them in the Netherlands as well!
‘Wilde Kroketten’, a croquettes restaurant will soon open in Amsterdam
Soon a croquettes restaurant will open in Amsterdam: ‘Wilde Kroketten’. Currently, ‘Wilde Kroketten’, a croquets company operated by father Ad and son Steven Poppelaars is already doing great for a couple of years. Father and son find that croquettes belong to the Dutch culinary heritage and that the Dutch should be proud of it. ‘Wilde Kroketten’ is going to be the first croquettes restaurant in Amsterdam that is mainly focusing on croquettes. The restaurant that will be located at the Danzigerkade 27 in Amsterdam, will be opened at the beginning of June. They will serve about 20 kinds of croquettes: “From shrimp croquettes, to crabmeat croquettes, meat croquettes and also a lot of vegetarian croquettes,” said Ad Poppelaars. The restaurant will be divided into two separate areas and will consist out of a lunch area (on the ground floor), and a restaurant on the second floor where five-course dinners are served. As the summer months are about to arrive, their terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy the croquettes with a nice drink.
