Het Amsterdamse Proeflokaal | Food experience of 1.800 m2
‘Het Amsterdamse Proeflokaal’ (a ‘proeflokaal’ is a tasting room) will open its doors this week at the renewed Stadionplein near the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. A food experience where over thousand people can experience the taste of Amsterdam. From residents to tourists, commuters to foodies.
Two floors with hospitality, taste and education
‘Het Amsterdamse Proeflokaal’ is 1,800 m2 and spread over two floors. The ground floor offers a breakfast- and lunch experience, the restaurant, the Dutch Seafoodbar and tasting tables. The dishes that are served at the tasting tables are all connected with the culture of eating in Amsterdam and will change every two weeks.
One floor up there is space for events and larger groups: a wine- and beer bar, workshop kitchens and the Food Experience space with a view at the Olympic Stadium. Heineken will be one of the suppliers offering a selection of craft beers and those who don’t like beer can learn and enjoy a glass of wine in the wine tasting room. If you’re more curious about the food history of the city there will also be a Food Experience movie running where all senses will be stimulated.
ROC Amsterdam
The new tasting room also has a social responsibility as they collaborate with ROC Amsterdam (a learning institute). Every year a new generation of hospitality talents will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge in the restaurant. ‘Het Amsterdamse Proeflokaal’ is a prominent part of House of Hospitality, a partnership between industry, universities and the City of Amsterdam in order to increase the level of hospitality in Amsterdam.
Het Amsterdamse Proeflokaal
